How to Submit Direct Links
Direct Links provide a unique way for affiliates to connect their personal or professional website directly to The Psychic School website without using a traditional affiliate link. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up, managing, and understanding how Direct Links work.
Setting Up a Direct Link
To start using Direct Links, follow these steps:
- Access the Direct Links Tab: In your Partnership Account, navigate to the Direct Links tab. This is where you’ll manage your Direct Link submissions.
- Enter Your Website URL: In the Direct Link Domain field, input the URL of your personal or professional website that you wish to connect to The Psychic School. Make sure the URL belongs to you, includes promotional content about The Psychic School, and is relevant to our branding (e.g., psychic abilities, meditation, spirituality).
- Save Your Direct Link: After entering your website URL, click the Save Direct Link button. A message will appear stating that your website has been submitted for approval. Our administration team will automatically be notified to review your submission.
- Approval Notification: After review, you will receive an email notifying you whether your URL was approved or rejected. If approved, your Direct Link will become active, and visits from your website to The Psychic School will be tracked just like traditional affiliate links.
Managing Your Direct Links
Once your Direct Link is approved, you can manage it as follows:
- Change or Remove a URL: If you need to update or remove your Direct Link, click the Remove button next to your current URL and then click Save Direct Link. You can then enter a new URL or leave the field empty if you no longer wish to use a Direct Link.
- Resubmit for Approval: If you submit a new URL, it will also require administrative approval. The same review process applies, and you will be notified once the new URL is either approved or rejected.
Understanding How Direct Links Work
- Tracking Direct Link Traffic:
- When a visitor clicks a link on your approved website that directs them to The Psychic School, our system recognizes the referring URL and credits the associated affiliate, just as it would if the visitor clicked on a traditional affiliate link containing your referral code.
- Important: The Direct Link only works if the visitor comes directly from your website to The Psychic School. If the visitor uses a browser bookmark or manually types in The Psychic School’s URL, affiliate tracking will not work.
- Technical Considerations:
- SSL (HTTPS) vs. Non-SSL (HTTP) Sites: Direct Link tracking may not work if your website is using HTTPS (SSL) while The Psychic School’s site uses HTTP, due to the inability to send referrer data. To resolve this, ensure your site has an SSL certificate.
- Browser Restrictions: Some browsers, such as Safari on iOS, have stricter rules on when referrer data is sent. If your site is using HTTP and The Psychic School uses HTTPS, most browsers will correctly track direct traffic. However, if you’re facing issues, adding a special meta tag to your website’s header can help transmit the necessary referrer information:
