Levitation
A magic carpet ride of Transvective lift
Levitation, which derives from the Latin levitas, meaning “lightness” refers to when an object is held up without support and stabilized. It is accomplished by an upward force counteracting the force of gravity, that being gravity as found on earth. In religious and spiritual terms, it has been used throughout history as a ‘proof of spirituality’ and psychic abilities, among other things. There is very little concrete evidence that the levitation of corporal bodies is possible, however there are many recounts in various texts and scriptures, as well as in new age and occult circles.
Levitation Technology
Michael Tellinger believes that some ancient societies used levitation technologies to move large stones and objects in building large monoliths, pyramids, and other structures and statues. Most of the evidence is anecdotal and presumptive and is often disregarded by mainstream scientific and historical communities. The consideration of this possibility is certainly compelling.
Physics
According to the laws of physics, levitation occurs when an upward force is pushed against the force of gravity. This force creates lift and holds when pushed towards a home position and whenever it is at a small distance from home. The energetic pathway appears to flow along a toroidal path
The Casimir effect, also called Casimir-Lifshitz effect is an effect that arises from the quantum theory of electromagnetic radiation in which the energy present in empty space might produce a tiny force between two objects. The effect was first considered Dutch physicist Hendrik Casimir in 1948. (Encylopedia Britannica)
This belief of a force that attracts and moves objects so that they appear to be levitating is also discussed in ancient mystic belief systems throughout Asia and India. It speaks to the view that the reality we live in is a type of holographic matrix.
Magnetic Levitation
There is a form of levitation, called magnetic levitation, that uses electromagnetic energy to lift or propel and object or vehicle. This is shown with train and tram systems where the cars levitate slightly above the track and a series of magnets keeps it in alignment with the path of travel.
Paranormal Phenomena
In paranormal terms, levitation, also called transvection is when there is a rising of a person or object into the body which is achieved through some mystical force or during meditative states. Some believe that levitation is the result of supernatural actions or some psychic or spiritual power. The scientific community debunks this interpretation of levitation as it may not be explained through natural means and therefore hard to prove.
The Rainbow Body and Tibetian Monks
There is a mythology about the Rainbow Body a particular sect of Tibetian Monks. In Dzogchen, the rainbow body appears through a level of realization. This may take on a visible form. Once considered sacred and guarded secrets, it has been seriously considered for hundreds of years, right into modern times. It is believed that these monks are able to utilize the latent powers of a dormant sixth sense as well as access quantum states in order to supersede physical realities.
Practical Uses for Levitation
If levitation were possible and sustainable, it would be revolutionary for transportation and the delivery of services, distribution of medicines, and administering various healing modalities. On a personal level, it may create a different relationship with time and space, allowing for greater ease of movement and opening up new pockets of intellectual and spiritual awareness.
A Psychic Perspective
While it is cool to consider the science and beliefs surrounding levitation, as well as stories of people who could levitate, it is not necessary to have a meaningful and active connection with your psychic awareness. Sure it would be amazing to have apparent ‘superpowers’ as the result of an achieved level of awareness, however, there is not a lot of visible and proven examples of its existence.
