Superconscious
The word Precognition comes from the Latin prae- meaning before, and cognitio, meaning acquiring knowledge. Also known as prescience, future vision, or future sight, it is when a person claims to have the ability to see into the future. According to Psychology Today, it is believed that one-third of the American population has experienced Precognition.
Ego Death, also known as psychic death, was first coined by Carl Gustav Jung. It refers to when a person loses all sense of identity for a brief or prolonged period, peeling away layers to reveal a connection to a more universal sense of self. It is often held as the highest test of spiritual elevation and transformation, so much so that psychonauts seek to hack into this transcended state using psychedelics. Ego death is often seen during growth periods that are related to stages in personal psychic development. Often this state of uncertainty is an indication that a person is about to take step int their personal growth and awareness.
Divination is the art of foretelling events. Tools are used to interpret signs and gain insight. It also relies on the psychic awareness of the reader. Other words for divination are fortune telling, soothsaying, and prophesying. There are many methods of divination spanning across cultures throughout history up to the present time. There are dozens if not hundreds of ways spanning from the more commonly known tools of Tarot and Astrology to the lesser-known, even strange, cloud reading and interpreting stomach gurgles. Divination may amplify abilities that are present in the reader. It is interesting to explore methods but ultimately, it is the psychic awareness of the individual that is the most potent and powerful tool.
When world events spin out of control it makes us questions the unknown and cling on to the opinions and reasons outside our own ‘knowingness’ to hold onto for security. It is easy to fall into the belief that we are powerless or victims of circumstance. The Butterfly Effect suggests the power of one on the many and how thoughts and actions on a microcosmic level may have a ripple effect on the macrocosm. Perhaps we are being invited to consider the creative and transformative forces at play beneath surface ‘reality’ and work from this place to step up, act and make changes. Developing psychic awareness may be the panacea for turbulent times.
Precognition is the ability to predict future events before they happen. For millennia, cultures and civilizations have relied on oracles, fortune tellers, soothsayers, seers, prophets and psychics to predict future events so that they may prevent and avert catastrophe. With a viral pandemic spreading across the world creating sudden, dramatic and unprecedented changes to daily life, many are looking for signs and predictions to find meaning and understand why and how it may have come into reality. Rather than exploring predictions as proof of current world events, perhaps it is more helpful to explore the underlying needs to feel safe, secure, protected, seen, and validated. During times that are chaotic and destabilizing, working on maintaining a balanced perspective through spiritual or psychic development and practices, meditation, movement, creativity, and healing and nurturing loving connections with others may offer greater support and grounding.
Teleportation is the ability to move and object from one location to another. It also defines the ability to move instantaneously from one location to another without physically occupying the time and space in between. When you think of teleportation, what automatically comes to mind is some Star trek-ian scene of a Spock and Captain Kirk dematerializing in one place and re-materializing in another. Another is the possibility of time travel, and how it has been shown in film, television and comic books via a Delorean, Tardis, portals or wormholes.
Telekinesis is a psychic superpower that enables a person to move objects with their mind. It is the ability to influence physical systems. It is also defined as the human power of ‘mind over matter’. Telekinesis is the ability to move matter through mental activity. Physical energy is created by energetic or electromagnetic impulses. It harnesses Universal life force energy, or psychic energy, also called Chi or Kundalini. In telekinesis one taps into the life force energy then combines it with physical energy.
Telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation run through storylines in comic books, action movies, and even video games. There is growing proof that these extra-sensory abilities exist through scientific studies and first-hand accounts. Is it possible that these ‘superpowers’ are not unique, supernatural or even extrasensory, but rather latent human abilities that have been forgotten in time? And if they exist, what is the purpose?
